What do we mean by What-If Analysis and SWIFT?
What-If Analysis is a Risk Assessment technique used in the Process Industries to identify hazards and evaluate risks associated with them and also work out the necessary mitigations. SWIFT stands for Structured What-If analysis technique and is a variation of the traditional What-If analysis method for safety risk assessments.
What-If Analysis is a quicker and simpler technique as compared to HAZOP and is rapidly gaining popularity in the process industries worldwide.
